To authorize, or set apart, a person for a particular work or service – Isa 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives”

The anointed person belonged to God in a special sense.

The phrases, "the Lord's anointed," "God's anointed," "My anointed," "Your anointed," or "His anointed" are used of the following people below
Saul – 1 Sam 26:9, 11 but David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him; for who stretch out his hand against the Lord’s anointed, and be guiltless? 11 “The Lord forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. But please, take now the spear and the jug of water that are his head, and let us go”
David – 2 Sam 22:51 “He is the tower of salvation to his king, and shows mercy to his anointed to David and his descendants forevermore”
Solomon – 2 Chron 6:42 “O Lord God, do not turn away the face of your Anointed; remember the mercies of your servant David”

In the New Testament, all who are Christ's disciples are said to be anointed; they are God's very own, set apart and commissioned for service – 2 Cor 1:21 “Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God.”

Priests, kings, and prophets were anointed.
Oil was poured on the head of the person being anointed – Exodus 29:7 “And you shall take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him”

Kings were set apart through the ritual of anointing, which was performed by a prophet who acted in God's power and authority – 1 Sam 15:1 “Samuel also said to Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint you as king over his people, over Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord”
The Old Testament also records two instances of the anointing of a prophet – 1 Kings 19:16 “Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place” Isa 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives”

Jesus the Messiah is described as "anointed" This description is found in the psalms of the Old Testament which prophesy the coming of Christ and in the preaching of the apostle Peter in the Book of Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with him”

In the New Testament, anointing was frequently used in connection with healing.
The Holy Spirit's activities in a believer's life are pictured in terms associated with anointing.

Jesus' disciples anointed the sick – Mark 6:13 “And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them”
And James instructed the elders of the church to anoint the sick with oil – James 5:14 “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord”. This anointing was for the purpose of healing.

Anointing in the New Testament also refers to the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which brings understanding – 1 John 2:20, 27 “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things”

This anointing is not only for kings, priests, and prophets; it is for everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The anointing occurs physically with a substance such as oil, myrrh, or balsam.

But this is also a spiritual anointing, as the Holy Spirit anoints a person's heart and mind with the love and truth of God.

His Early Christian Ministry Testimony
As a young Christian, I once heard my pastor say during a morning service that Christians could raise the dead in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believed it with all my heart. And flying around on my bicycle in those days, I went through the city of Benin in search of a dead person to raise to life. After about five hours of hard searching I found a compound where a little girl had died a few hours before. The corpse had been cleaned and prepared for burial. I walked boldly up to the father of the dead child. "The God whom I serve can bring your baby back to life," I told him. "Will you permit me to pray for the child and bring her back to life?" The man was startled, but he agreed. With great enthusiasm, I walked into the room and up to the bed. The child was cold and dead. With strong faith in the Lord, I called on the Lord to restore the child back to life. I turned to the corpse and called it by name, "Arise in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ." Oh Glory to God! The corpse sneezed, heavily, alas. The child had come back to life! (Benson Idahosa)

Benson Idahosa's Childhood.

Benson Andrew Idahosa was born in Benin City on September 11, 1938 of A poor pagan parents. He was a sickly infant who was always fainting. As a result of his constant illness his father ordered the mother to throw him in the dust bin. When he was eighteen months old he was left on a rubbish heap to die. He was rejected by his father, sent to work on a farm as a servant and was denied education until he was fourteen years old. His education was irregular due to the poor financial status of his parents. He later took correspondence courses from Britain and the United States while working in Bata Shoe Company. His Conversion and Call to the Ministry His conversion was dramatic and his calling supernatural. He was converted by Pastor Okpo on a football field one Sunday afternoon while playing soccer with his teammates. Thus, young Benson became the first Bini member of Pastor Okpo's small congregation. As a young convert he became very zealous in winning souls and in conducting outreaches in villages around Benin City. He was called to the ministry in a night vision from the Lord. "I have called you that you might take the gospel around the world in my name, preach the gospel, and I will confirm my word with signs following," said the voice from heaven. The room was filled with the presence of God as Benson fell to his knees beside the bed: "Lord, wherever you want me to go, I will go." He prayed on through the night, renewing his vows to God and interceding for his people who were yet to hear the message of salvation. After his call, Benson launched into ministry work preaching from village to village the gospel of Jesus Christ with great power and anointing. More people confessed Christ as their Saviour, and more healings occurred as he prayed for the sick. Expansion of His Ministry and His Credentials Benson Idahosa, the archbishop and founder of Church of God Mission International Incorporated with its headquarters in Benin City, Nigeria established over 6,000 churches throughout Nigeria and Ghana before 1971.

Many of the ministers he supervised pastored churches of 1,000 to 4,000 people.

In addition to filling the position of archbishop of Church of God Mission, he was also president of All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, president of Idahosa World Outreach and president of Faith Medical Centre. He held positions in numerous organizations including the college of bishops of the international communion of Christian churches and the Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma. Idahosa earned a diploma in divinity from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, which he attended in 1971, a Doctorate of Divinity in 1981 from the Word of Faith College, New Orleans and a Doctor of Laws degree from Oral Roberts University in March 1984. He also received other degrees from the International University in Brussels, Belgium. Archbishop Benson Idahosa and his wife Margaret Idahosa were blessed with four children. Idahosa's Supreme Task Soul winning was Idahosa's primary concern. With a motto "Evangelism our Supreme Task," he worked towards this goal of reaching the unreached in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a black African, he found the doors of African countries were wide open and he ministered in over 123 countries all over the world. Crusades played a major role in his ministry. He was involved in at least one crusade per month. A record crowd of nearly one million people a night attended his Lagos Crusade in April 1985. He established the Redemption Television Ministry with a potential viewing audience of 50 million people. What Leading Gospel Ministers Said about Benson Idahosa According to Mrs.

Gordon Freda Lindsay, President of Christ for the Nations Inc., Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.:
I know of no young black in all of Africa who is reaching millions as Benson is,--in crusades with hundreds of thousands in attendance, in his weekly nationwide telecast, in his Bible School, training eager students from several nations. He also conducts campaigns in Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Australia and the United States, where he often appeared on national religious telecasts. His burden for souls, his ministry of healing and miracles, even to the raising of several dead, demonstrates he is especially called of the Lord in these end times.

Benson Idahosa is sought after by everyone in his state, from government officials to beggars. When they posed questions and explained their problems to this man they received instantanous miracle solutions, just as people did in Bible days with God's prophets. And the people get miraculous answers from this mighty leader of God's people.

Benin City respects and salutes this great man of God, even at death. I have been with him on visits to many officials, to the governor, to the powerful Benin tribal kings. He moved with God and his people know it. His great miracle cathedral (his headquarters) seats over 10,000 (1981). His Bible School attracts upper class people from different African nations. And they also come from Maurice, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, Europe and other nations of the world--a truly International Bible Training Centre of dynamic faith. People know that Bishop Idahosa preached what he practiced. Dr. Idahosa's evangelistic ministry has reached nations around the world. He was the first black African evangelist to shake Australia in a massive crusade that got national attention. His seminars have affected Christians and church leaders in many countries. I sincerely salute this man because he practiced among his own people what he preached to the world. Benson Idahosa was a man who believed God's promises and that God's miracle provision applies to Africans as well as to Americans. He believed that Africa has a part in God's work, and Africa will reap God's blessings.

Evangelist T. L. Osborn, from Tulsa, Oklahoma remarked:
Many who follow Idahosa's teaching have been saved from poverty and have learned to plant out of their desperate need and to look to God as their divine source thereby becoming prosperous Christians in their own land. Idahosa rose from the rank of an ordinary man to world leadership as a pastor, builder, counsellor, prophet, teacher, apostle, evangelist,--a man of godly wisdom and of Christ-like compassion, whose ministry has blessed millions the world over. Idahosa was the greatest African ambassador of the apostolic Christian faith to the world.

The Secret of His Success Idahosa operated in faith and he had a robust faith.

He believed and trusted God with a childlike faith. He once said that living a daily life of absolute faith in God is the only secret to great success. He believed God for everything. "All things are possible to him that believes." He spent quality time in prayer and in the study of the God's Word. He said that if someone spends time studying the Bible and acting on it, people will come looking for that person for life solutions. Idahosa also spent time studying the works and lives of other successful people both in the gospel ministry and other fields of human endeavors and he applied the principles he learned about these successful people to his life and ministry. He was very energetic and hardworking. One of the ministers who served under him said that he had never seen a person who worked as hard as Archbishop Benson Idahosa. He was committed and consistent and he had confidence in himself. He was very humble and full of godly wisdom. Archbishop Benson Idahosa was said to be the leader of over seven million Jesus people worldwide before he went to be with the Lord in February 1998.

He is my spiritual father, mentor even a father figure to thousands of leaders globally. As a boy saved at the verge of committing suicide filled with the Holy Spirit and called to the ministry. And immediately after my Certificate at Grace Evangelical Bible College at Uromi 1986 I was led to study at the All Nations for Christ Bible Institute in Benin City of Nigeria 1988 where myself and wife Philomena obtained our Diploma in Theology. We were so blessed to learn and receive great impartation of his anointing and covering over our life and ministries.

Before I arrived Johannesburg South Africa in June 1992 we were prophesied and prayed for by Arch-Bishop Benson Idahosa, even when we eventually started the church in Johannesburg 1995 he will occasionally telephonically encourage us and pray for us.

To us Papa Idahosa is not dead, he lives in our hearts forever.

DON'T GIVE UP

For ye have need of patience that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come and will not tarry. (Heb 10:36)
A village pastor had two young boys as members of his little congregation who were very committed to the church and to their pastor. Because these young men loved their pastor, they spent most time with him doing the work of the church. Several times they heard their pastor pray out loud to God in frustration to send help to him due to the heavy financial burden he had incurred many times. It was as though his prayer hit the roof and fell back on the pastor’s head.Not long enough after then, the young boys felt restlessness to relocate to the city, leaving their pastor behind. Before leaving they told their pastor that when God blesses them they would come back and help him. The news of their decision to relocate had a drastic effect on the already frustrated village pastor who had spent endless weeks and months fasting and praying for God to send him helpers to carry on with the work. The pastor of the village church concluded that his prayers were not answered and began to contemplate on closing down the village church.

The two young men soon fond themselves in the city and settled down to further their pursuit. Through some miraculous intervention they got a breakthrough and traveled abroad within a short time they ran into a lot of money. They decided to visit him in Johannesburg for the Christmas.Just before leaving overseas for home they remembers their poor village pastor back at home and decided to buy a bus for other church and a personal car for the pastor and reserved some money to help build a befitting church edifice for worship. Back at home the village pastor woke up one morning and decides to leave his village church and relocate to another city and pick up a job. While leaving, he left no forwarding address. He abandoned his parishioners and decided to take his destiny into his own hands. Not long after his disappearance the two young men arrived at the village with so much excitement to lift their pastor’s status only to find that the pastor had left. They searched and searched and in frustration gave all they brought o another village pastor who had remained steadfast and patient for Gods intervention in his life.My dear reader I believe you have tried and made all efforts to practice God‘s word with the hope that things will turn around. In the name of Jesus, I beg you don’t give up even when things do not seem to change in the immediate now. The word of god says “for ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while and he that will come will come and will not arty. This period that looks like heaven is silent, God is working out something new for you. From the day you sowed the seed of prayer in the ground like a plant some things began to happen. Outwardly, nothing seem to be happening but patience and time will only reveal a manifestation of a plant shrouding out of the hard ground in a matter of weeks or months and sometimes years, you will enjoy the fruit of your seed. Keep sowing seeds of money, fasting, confession of God’s words concerning your life and as you do so add patience.I pray for you right now, from the crown of your head to the very soles of your feet be healed and be delivered, I pray for supernatural intervention off all sorts in your life in Jesus name.

State Overseer Ogagba has been a leader in good standing with the FGBCFI for more five years and continues to prove to be a wonderful asset to the ministry focus and vision of the Full Gospel Fellowship to reach and win the continent of Africa for Christ, South Africa in particular.

Under State Overseer Ogagba’s leadership, he has assisted the FGBCFI in organizing and setting up an infrastructure throughout Johannesburg and Cape Town like no other. He has assisted in setting up and hosting numerous training sessions, annual conferences, and meetings and visits with the indigenous leadership. He works well to maintain contact and representation throughout for all. His heart and passion is truly the voice of God to His people and to act as a voice of the people towards God and others. He has acquired, for the sake of structure and organization, equipment, tapes, teaching materials, and other necessary resources that aid in the growth and extension of outreach and influence on behalf of FGBCFI of South Africa. The goal to win the unreached people groups of South Africa is being obtained and maintained through his collaborative efforts to unite a people with the Most High God.

As Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International of South Africa continues to grow and flourish State Overseer Frank Ogagba is considered to be a tremendous asset. His tenacity, spiritual fervor, and hunger for spiritual bread for all people along with his ability to manage and organize people and events are the very reason why the FGBCFI stands behind and with him 100 %. Rev Frank Idemudia Ogagba Is Called Of God As An Apostle With The Message Of Faith With Signs, Wonders, Miracle And Healing Anointing To Set The Captives Free From The Bondage Of Sin And Satan As He Preaches And Teaches.

He Got Saved On The Verge Of Committing Suicide And Baptized With The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit With Evidence Of Speaking In Tongues In 23 Of June 1986.

He Was Called To The Ministry And Immediately He Did Not Confer With Flesh And Blood.

To Fulfill God’s Call Upon His Life He Went Ahead To Study At Grace Evangelical Bible College Uromi Where He Receives Certificate In Theology In 1986 - 1987.

He Was First Ordained By Dr Rev Dominic Eseka, The Presbyter Of Church Of God Mission Inc At Uromi As An Evangelist / Pastor Because Of The Great Result Of God Power Visible In Frank Ogagba’s Soul Winning Meeting With Undeniable Proof Of God’s Hand As People Were Getting Convicted By The Spirit, Saved, Healed And Baptized In The Holy Spirit.

While In January 1987-1988, He Went Ahead To Study At All Nation For Christ Bible Institute In Benin City Of Nigeria, Where He Obtained His Diploma In Theology Under Arch-Bishop Benson Idahosa, Who Recognized Him And Often Gave The Remarks That This A Great Man Of God To His Generation With Miracles, Signs And Wonder Ministry. He Was Then Ordained By His Lordship Arch-Bishop BA Idahosa And Sent Forth Into The Nations.

During Apostle Frank Time Of Study In Benin City Of Nigeria 1987 - 1988, The Lord Told Him He Was Preparing Him For The Work In South Africa, Although He Was Part Of The Evangelism Team Of Church Of God Mission And Also IWO “Idahosa World Outreach”.

He Started A Church In Benin Whilst In The School And After School, He Got Married And Was Led To Abakaliki In Ebonyi State, Nigeria A Place He Grew Up Studied, Work During His Childhood Days To Start A New Church Called “Ever-Increasing Faith Church” From 1990 – June 1992 Pro To His Onward Trip To Johannesburg South Africa According To God’s Instruction, Leading And Provisions.

While In Abakaliki God Used Apostle Frank Ogagba To Win The Youth In That Great City To The Lord In All The Schools, Colleges, University To The Lord By Teaching On The Subject Of Faith, Holy Spirit, Healing Etc. He Made A Mark In Abakaliki That Can Not Be Erased In The Heart Of People In Abakaliki Both Old And Young And His Popularity Grew And Attracted Spiritual Leaders Who Gave Him Hands Of Fellowship Quickly And Identified With God’s Grace Upon His Life And Ministry.

In 1992 June When He Arrived South Africa Via Zimbabwe The Spirit Of God Told Him “This Is The Land I Have Given You For Your Inheritance” The Grace Of God Took Him To National Pentecostal Church To Help To Know The Land Properly Under The Leadership Of Bishop Owen Mcgregor Where He Served As His First-Fruit Services In A Foreign Soil (A Land Of His Inheritance) As An Assistant Pastor.

While He Was Serving Here He Continue To Study With ICI University Having It’s Headquarter In Irving Texas USA On Correspondence, Where He Received A Bachelor In Theology.

He Is Also Currently Studying With Team Work Bible Institute, Martinsville Texas For Bachelor In Ministry.

He Was Also Awarded A Doctoral Degree in Theology with major In Christian Psychology (PhD) In June 2007 in Johannesburg South Africa by Jordan Institute of Missions & Ministerial Acts (J.I.M.M.A)

In June 1994 He Was Officially Released And Anointed By Bishop Owen Mcgregor With Anointing Oil With The Entire Leadership Of National Pentecostal Church Because Of God’s Mandate Upon Apostle Frank Ogagba To Start Ever-Increasing Faith Church Which Is God’s Vision And Purpose.

Idahosa earned a diploma in divinity from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, which he attended in 1971, a Doctorate of Divinity in 1981 from the Word of Faith College, New Orleans and a Doctor of Laws degree from Oral Roberts University in March 1984. He also received other degrees from the International University in Brussels, Belgium. Archbishop Benson Idahosa and his wife Margaret Idahosa were blessed with four children. Idahosa's Supreme Task Soul winning was Idahosa's primary concern. With a motto "Evangelism our Supreme Task," he worked towards this goal of reaching the unreached in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a black African, he found the doors of African countries were wide open and he ministered in over 123 countries all over the world. Crusades played a major role in his ministry. He was involved in at least one crusade per month. A record crowd of nearly one million people a night attended his Lagos Crusade in April 1985. He established the Redemption Television Ministry with a potential viewing audience of 50 million people. I know of no young black in all of Africa who is reaching millions as Benson is,--in crusades with hundreds of thousands in attendance, in his weekly nationwide telecast, in his Bible School, training eager students from several nations. He also conducts campaigns in Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Australia and the United States, where he often appeared on national religious telecasts. His burden for souls, his ministry of healing and miracles, even to the raising of several dead, demonstrates he is especially called of the Lord in these end times.

Benson Idahosa is sought after by everyone in his state, from government officials to beggars. When they posed questions and explained their problems to this man they received instantanous miracle solutions, just as people did in Bible days with God's prophets. And the people get miraculous answers from this mighty leader of God's people.

Benin City respects and salutes this great man of God, even at death. I have been with him on visits to many officials, to the governor, to the powerful Benin tribal kings. He moved with God and his people know it. His great miracle cathedral (his headquarters) seats over 10,000 (1981). His Bible School attracts upper class people from different African nations. And they also come from Maurice, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, Europe and other nations of the world--a truly International Bible Training Centre of dynamic faith. People know that Arch-Bishop Idahosa preached what he practiced. Dr. Idahosa's evangelistic ministry has reached nations around the world. He was the first black African evangelist to shake Australia in a massive crusade that got national attention. His seminars have affected Christians and church leaders in many countries. I sincerely salute this man because he practiced among his own people what he preached to the world. Benson Idahosa was a man who believed God's promises and that God's miracle provision applies to Africans as well as to Americans. He believed that Africa has a part in God's work, and Africa will reap God's blessings.

Evangelist T. L. Osborn, from Tulsa, Oklahoma remarked:
Many who follow Idahosa's teaching have been saved from poverty and have learned to plant out of their desperate need and to look to God as their divine source thereby becoming prosperous Christians in their own land. Idahosa rose from the rank of an ordinary man to world leadership as a pastor, builder, counsellor, prophet, teacher, apostle, evangelist,--a man of godly wisdom and of Christ-like compassion, whose ministry has blessed millions the world over. Idahosa was the greatest African ambassador of the apostolic Christian faith to the world.

The Secret of His Success Idahosa operated in faith and he had a robust faith. He believed and trusted God with a childlike faith. He once said that living a daily life of absolute faith in God is the only secret to great success. He believed God for everything. "All things are possible to him that believes." He spent quality time in prayer and in the study of the God's Word. He said that if someone spends time studying the Bible and acting on it, people will come looking for that person for life solutions. Idahosa also spent time studying the works and lives of other successful people both in the gospel ministry and other fields of human endeavors and he applied the principles he learned about these successful people to his life and ministry. He was very energetic and hardworking. One of the ministers who served under him said that he had never seen a person who worked as hard as Archbishop Benson Idahosa. He was committed and consistent and he had confidence in himself. He was very humble and full of godly wisdom. Archbishop Benson Idahosa was said to be the leader of over seven million Jesus people worldwide before he went to be with the Lord in February 1998.
